I found this great idea on the internet http://www.atelier-cherry.com/2012/08/estojo-de-garrafa-pet.html, made it and translated the tutorial in English (The original one was in Japanese ) This is great and easy project to make with children !
Lower half of the platic bottle about 13 cm high
Fabric 15 cm wide x 32 cm long
sewing thread or embrodery thread
Edding 750 Paint markers
How to Make the Plastic bootle Pencil Case
Make a two centimeter fold of the fabric on the wrong side. Sew along the line close to the buttom edge. You are creating a tunnel to thread the ribbon in at the end.
Below the folded fabric, sew along the side line joining both fabric right side together. Sew 1 centimeter away from the border.
Draw with the edding 750 paint markers on the outside of the plastic bottle, using these pens are fun and teh color is more opaque than regular markers.
Punch holes at a regular distance with the hole puncher. You can also do by melting hole with a hot metal stick. As working with the children I found that the hole puncher is easy for them to use.
Place the fabric right side facing the bottle with the fold on the bottom.
Sew around the bottle two round for all the hole to be sewn in.
Turn the fabric right side up.
Thread the 2 ribbon strips in the top fabric fold with a safety pin. Each ribbon strip has go fully around each on starting from the other side form each other. So that you can pull each side and the pencil case closes.
Add decorative beads at the end of the theads and tie both ends together so that they don’t disapear inside the fabric.
